The MSU Wind Symphony is comprised of the highest-level wind players and percussionists at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in the John J. Cali School of Music. Students’ fields of study include music education, music therapy, performance, and composition. Under the direction of Dr. Thomas McCauley since 2006, the MSU Wind Symphony has appeared at the College Band Directors National Association National Conference (2019), National Association for Music Education All-Eastern Biennial Conference (2017), the College Band Directors National Association Eastern Regional Conference (2012), in addition to touring the East Coast (Philadelphia, Boston, New Hampshire, New York), the Midwest (Chicago, Indianapolis), and the Southwest (Arizona, Nevada). Their appearance at the 2022 WASBE International Conference marks the first time any large ensemble from the John J. Cali School of Music has received such a prestigious invitation.
