Preparatory Course in Dance
Dance | Specials | Children | Young people | Adults | Family
MUK/tanzt/juniors presents a highly varied programme performed by young students from the Preparatory Course in Dance at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna. The pieces featured were all developed as part of the various dance disciplines taught, which include: classical dance and improvisation; contemporary dance; historical dance; character dance; acrobatic dance; and rhythmic dance. As well as experiencing first-hand the enormous enthusiasm of these young artists, the audience will gain an insight into the vast range of styles which a dance education covers. The choreographies evolved through a creative process in which Preparatory Course in Dance teaching staff — Margit Legler, Lucian Necsea, Nora Schnabl-Andritsch, Jolantha Seyfried, Nina Swoboda, Vera-Viktoria Szirmay, Audrey Van Herck and Marijke Wagner, together with their guest Matilde Ceron — worked side-by-side with the young dancers under their tutelage.
