SANTÉ WITH CHOPIN
France and Poland: two nations in one heart | Curated by Maria Radutu
Chamber music | Concert | Specials | Adults
Paris and Warsaw: Frédéric Chopin’s heart is buried, at his own request, in Warsaw, while his body lies in the Père-Lachaise cemetery in Paris. Chopin felt at home in both these countries, whose widely different characters are evident in the music of the Frenchman Francis Poulenc and Poland’s Christoph Penderecki. Also on the programme is Chopin’s First Piano Concerto – a truly immortal piece of music.
