TRATTO
MUK Symphony Orchestra
Orchestral music | Classic | Concert | Young people | Adults
Composing in a quiet little room? Not for us! Once again this year, students from the composition classes at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK) will embrace the challenge of creating a new piece inspired by a renowned work of orchestral literature: Robert Schumann’s Symphony No. 1, known as the Spring Symphony. The world premières will set the stage for the concert program, and alongside the Spring Symphony, the MUK.sinfonieorchester will present Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s widely acclaimed violin concerto. The soloist for the violin concerto, Eva Maria Wagner, is a competition winner and recipient of numerous accolades. Stepping into the role of artistic director is Irene Delgado-Jiménez, a distinguished MUK graduate and internationally active conductor. Guiding the audience through the evening and delving into the captivating facets of the works in relation to each other is Jean Beers, the Head of the Keyboard Instruments, Music Direction and Composition program at the MUK.
