UNGEDULD DES HERZENS (IMPATIENCE OF THE HEART) BY STEFAN ZWEIG
Fritz Karl and Anna Starzinger
Literature | Reading | Adults
A relationship marked by both affection and pity develops between Cavalry Lieutenant Anton Hofmiller and Edith, the 17-year-old paralysed daughter of Baron Kékesfalva. This poignant connection can only culminate in tragedy on the eve of the First World War. Fritz Karl, accompanied by music, reads – or rather, performs – the role of Anton Hofmiller in a virtuoso manner. He skilfully embodies the soul tormented by indecision and despondency, thereby adding another layer of depth to Zweig’s novel.
