VIENNA GIRLS CHOIR & FRIENDS
Connecting with choral friends from Germany and Switzerland
Choral music | Concert | Adults | Family
The Mädchenkantorei girls’ choir of St. Eberhard’s Cathedral in Stuttgart plays a vital role in the cultural life of the city. Set up in 1994, the choir features 150 girls aged between five and eighteen singing in three different choir levels. The 33 girls, aged twelve to fifteen, from the concert choir, led by cathedral conductor Lydia Schimmer, come together to exchange ideas with the choir girls from Vienna. The Mädchenkantorei choir and the Vienna Girls Choir will showcase the finest pieces from their current repertoires, along with several works they’ve collaborated on together.
The concert marks the start of the Wiener Chormädchen and Friends (Vienna Girls Choir and Friends) series; the Das MuTh audience can look forward to encounters with girls’ choirs from Dresden, Berlin, Regensburg, Basel and Rottweil.
