PINOCCHIO
Opera for Children by Christof Dienz
Opera | Musical theatre | Lieder & singing | New music | Concert | 6+ | Children | Young people | Family | School, primary level | School, secondary level
Pinocchio is a real fidget. His mind is always somewhere else. He’s noisy and excitable. He jumps around, disturbing and disrupting the other children. He talks constantly. And he never listens. Pinocchio really gets on everybody’s nerves, and is always getting into trouble. At the same time he is very open and outgoing, and becomes enthusiastic very easily. So why does he keep wandering around, instead of going home to his father Geppetto? Is he just going where the fancy takes him? Is he protecting himself from something? Is he a hyperactive child? In the end, what he turns out to be is someone who rescues his own father. And in that moment of taking responsibility, he comes of age.
