THE VIENNA BOYS CHOIR AT MuTh
The Vienna Boys Choir at MuTh
It was 2012 when MuTh first opened its doors as the Vienna Boys Choir’s Concert Hall. The concept behind MuTh was to provide the Vienna Boys Choir with a suitably local, permanent performance venue to serve as an artistic home when not abroad on their extensive tours around the globe.
The boy choristers, who are organised into four different touring choirs, live nearby in the Augarten Palace. This is also home to the Choir’s primary school and high school, both of which also admit girls.
Singing and Acting
In MuTh the choristers get to demonstrate their dramatic side. Here they perform alongside celebrated soloists, participating in first-class productions of opera and musical theatre staged by well-known directors. The Choir, which can trace its history back over five hundred years, gives regular evening concerts – and afternoon performances too – delighting audiences with a repertoire that has made them famous the world over.In MuTh the choristers get to demonstrate their dramatic side.
