BARTOLOMEYBITTMANN

For ten years now the BartolomeyBittmann duo have been heavily involved in developing a personal, progressive repertoire of music to suit their chosen instruments, which of course are strongly associated with the classical music tradition.

From the start they concentrated on original compositions, and they focused on experimenting with new techniques for playing the cello, violin and mandola. The pieces range from powerful rock riffs and breakneck virtuoso passages to more intimate grooves and gentle cantilenas. Finding the instruments’ true acoustic essence, without resorting to the use of electronics or effects, has always been at the heart of this project.

This new programme “z e h n” celebrates their ten-year anniversary. It showcases new works, most of which were composed during lockdown.
