The Men Who Shaped Hollywood | Johannes Fleischmann
Chamber music | Lieder & singing | Concert | Adults | School, secondary level
When Fono Forum reviewed the Johannes Fleischmann album “Exodus”, it enthused over a “very carefully designed programme” and “impressive reserves of stylistic empathy, along with undoubted dedication”. In this recording the violinist, together with the pianist Magda Amara and baritone Günter Haumer, interprets music by Erich Wolfgang Korngold and Eric Zeisl. These Viennese composers escaped Nazism by emigrating to the USA. They became major figures in Hollywood during the golden age of film music. This is the first time that the full CD programme has been performed live, and it is taking place right here in Vienna.
