KONTRASTE SCHAFFEN!? (MAKING CONTRASTS)
The ever-changing clarinet | Johannes Fleischmann
Chamber music | New music | Concert | Adults
Béla Bártok completed “Contrasts”, his trio for clarinet, violin and piano, in 1938, shortly before he emigrated to New York. He wrote the piece for the famous jazz clarinettist Benny Goodman.
Born in 1986, Christoph Zimper is a composer and clarinettist. In this concert he sets the Bártok piece alongside a new work of his own, which he composed especially for this evening. Other musical highlights from both the Old World and the New are also featured, with compositions by Frédéric Chopin, Leonard Bernstein, Fritz Kreisler, Zoltán Kodály and Béla Kovács.
