STYV MEETS GOSPEL PROJECT
A choral concert: popular music and the glory of Gospel
Choral music | Pop | Concert | Young people | Adults
A young pop choir from the Johann-Josef Fux Conservatory in Graz performs with a gospel choir from Vienna.
The amplified voices of a vocal pop combo and the all-acoustic sound of a gospel choir join forces to bring you pop and gospel classics. Anyone who enjoys singing and comes to this concert will find that these choirs give us pop music at its best and deliver the authentic sound of real gospel!
Both choirs take a bold approach to exploring their vocal potential; they create a rich diversity of sound textures, and lift the audience with their high-energy stage presence. This evening promises to be a spectacular mix of sounds, grooves, and movement. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.
All are welcome at the GOSPEL project. Having fun and being disciplined makes for a powerful combination! And, when pursuing lofty goals, a solid grounding is essential. The GOSPEL project has been following these principles since June 2012, an approach which has helped them become one of the country’s finest gospel choirs.
The inspirational effect of gospel music is what drives them forward, and they make no bones about it.
The Styrian Voices (STYV for short) are a young Styrian pop choir which was formed in 2016. Within the last year they have found a new home at the Johann-Josef-Fux Conservatory. STYV aims to provide young people with a performance platform while encouraging their creativity, developing their musicality, and strengthening their commitment. The STYV coaches hold annual auditions to select the singers for this youth pop choir.
In recent years over 200 singers have competed for a place in STYV. We are very proud of what we have achieved in developing musical potential here in Styria, and we continue to support our participants in every way we can.
