MARIA RADUTU: INSOMNIA
Making it through the longest night of the year
Chamber music | Jazz | Lieder & singing | New music | Classic | Concert | Adults
Insomnia. On sleepless nights, perhaps all of us – those who are happy and those who are sad (and those who are both), those who have a classical background and those who don’t, singletons and couples alike – could spend each hour listening to music? December 21st would be the ideal date to try this out. December 21st is the shortest day and the longest night of the year. The sun is at its lowest, and it marks the start of astronomical winter. Eerie moods; white landscapes; mysterious moments of beauty in sound: through a live experience, incorporating videos created specifically on the theme of insomnia, Maria Radutu lets us into her personal history, in a project which was inspired by the many journeys she has made by overnight train between Bucharest, Vienna, and Paris. Sometimes, not being able to sleep can be a fascinating experience!
The pre-concert wine tasting:
BLIND TASTING – On this, the longest and darkest night of the year, we will have a blind wine tasting. The identities of all nine wines will only be revealed just before the concert. You’re bound to be surprised!
The wine tasting takes place an hour and a half before the concert, and is open to all who subscribe to the GLASWEISE KLASSIKER cycle. The wine tasting is not included in tickets purchased for this individual concert.
